Cave paintings are paintings found on cave walls and ceilings, and especially refer to those of prehistoric origin. Travelling in France Lascaux II

ascaux II is a replica of the prehistoric paintings found in caves in southern France. Teenagers discovered the caves in 1940. The Lascaux caves contain paintings, believed to be almost 17,000 years old, of large animals. Human presence in the caves damaged the paintings, hence the replica.

The Chauvet cave, in the Ardeche region of southern France, contains some of the oldest and most remarkable cave drawings ever found - yet it's been sealed shut since its discovery to preserve this precious art. Now a vast replica of the cave and its spectacular paintings has been built.
