West Bank Street Art: Palestinian artists have been inspired by Arab Spring upheavals

Street art and graffiti have an important recent history as genres in the West Bank. During the first intifada, Palestinians took to writing and drawing on walls. While the first intifada ended, the practice of street art and graffiti continued. Some observers of the art scene in the West Bank see that, inspired by the enormous creative visual outpouring from the Arab revolutions, Palestinian street art has redoubled its energy in the last two years.
